Write 250 words, i.e., three to five paragraphs, explaining how the people misjudged Jesus ministry to Zacchaeus at his house. Tell at least one lesson we can learn from that mistake of the people.
A parable in the bible once narrated the story of a short amd rich man named Zaccheus. Stated in Luke 19:1-10, there was a man named Zaccheus, he was the cheif.tax collector and everybody dislikes him because he is corrupted.
It was in the city of Jericho where Jesus once visited, people gathered.around and formed a large.crowd all over Jesus. Zacchaeus, seeing that he was short man, he climbed up a sycamore tree.to witness the face of the Christ. Jesus took noticed of him and asked him for.Jesus to stay at his house. People who witnessed it where shocked,.especially those who have known Zaccheus. In others perspective, it might be unjust or inappropriate. Zaccheus was a man who is corrupt, a cheater. He was a tax collector who cheats money.of those who pays taxes. People disliked him because of his ways, he takes advantage of his position to get more.money for personal gain so when Jesus said to Zaccheus regarding to staying at his house, he was deemed unworthy to host the Christ because he is a sinner. There were many good and law abiding citizens in Jericho yet out of those people,Jesus manages to pick Zacchaeus. People.around him sees Zaccheus as unfit or incompetent because he is corrupt.
However, Jesus did not come to this world to please the good but cleanse the world.of its sins. Jesus had seen something in Zaccheus which other peope failed to see. He did not look at his past transgressions but rather moved him to be the best he can be, to be good and change his ways.
People in the society nowadays are judgemental, we live according to the norms we see everyday. Some peope define someone by his pasts. The moral lesson for the story is to not directly judge people by who they where, the past does mold us to become who we are tomorrow but it doesnt mean we are determined by our past actions. People change and often for the better. Give a person a chance to change, do not live by his past mistakes but focus ahead on the future. This is why Jesus came to Zaccheus, because Jesus does not judge and looks at people equally, not by who they where but rather who they can be. Furthermore, just like Zaccheus, we are sinners. Lets be Zaccheus, who changes for the better, believe in the Lord for salvation.
